BT-E8010 / BT-E8014 / BT-E8016
On the E80xxs, usually the charge connector, the discharge connector, or the BMS gets fucked. If it is one of the connectors, it must be replaced with original one from a bad battery.
E8010 is 14Ah - 504Wh
E8014 is 11.6Ah - 418Wh
E8016 - 630Wh
Open SUPER CAREFULLY, the inner side of discharge connector brakes very easily. The pins break off on the inside.
Four T20 screws must be opened on the bottom of the battery to open it. Two of the screws are covered by plastic caps, that can be removed easily with the right tools and technique.
The discharge connector is held in by four T8 screws, they must be undone.
When reinserting the discharge connector, make sure you slide the rubber part all the way on to the connector before trying to put it back to the housing.
How to repair the discharge connector
- Use the Dremel to extract the plastic until you reach the backside of the power connector
- Use a cutter to make the exposed metal surface bigger
- Use the heat gun with the thinnest nozzle to heat the exposed part and deposit some solder on it
- Use the soldering iron to remelt the tin and make sure it bonds well with the connector
- Make a tinned wire as shown on the picture. Use large gauge wire, this is a power connector.
- Solder in the wire.
- Cut and strip the wire, and make a U shaped form out of the copper threads, then tin it.
